Of course I don't want that but we are years away from bread lines.how long can we go with 25%+ unemployment?
you want a repeat of the 1930s?
it’s avoidable but not for long
Money machine go brrrr?if necessary, congress will enact universal income; your dream of societal collapse isn't going to happen
Pelosi says guaranteed income could be 'worthy of attention now' as coronavirus stifles economy
The House speaker said the extended timeline of the coronavirus pandemic and resulting recession should cause Congress to look at different ways to guarantee that Americans' basic needs are met.www.cnbc.com

We are going through a minor economic speed bump and people are saying how we should worry more about the jobless dying from starvation (fiction) than 2000 Americans dying from covid per day (fact).
It's a false dilemma.
As always, the solution is somewhere in the middle.
Neither locking down the economy or reopening it completely are the answer.
As always, nuance and counterintuitive solutions are needed.
I fear a cult akin to global warming is emergingMoney machine go brrrr?
You really think that's not going to create an even larger implosion further down the road?

That's all you've got from everything I've said?years away ?
I will go on record to say if we don’t broadly reopen the economy by June we will have negative GDP of >10% in 2020 and unemployment of >25% in 2021
we’re past the triage stageThat's all you've got from everything I've said?
I'm not for a complete lock down FUREVERS but advocating completely opening the economy right now is equally silly.
Its the same people with the same apocalyptic fearI fear a cult akin to global warming is emerging
there is nothing that will tip these types over the edge into “its ok to open”
Not at the same level but someYou don't think that when businesses open up again they will employ people?
I'm no economist but that doesn't seem likely.
that’s too badIts the same people with the same apocalyptic fear
Well sure but it's nowhere near as doomy and gloomy as you and especially Caca and ifail are portraying it.Not at the same level but some

Unemployment is at 20% right now since everything is closed and people go laid off.
How many of these business' actually went under during this time and will not reopen?
I'd like to see that figure.
