Tim Stamps - Shaper of the Year

I have one and love it. Compared to the scarecrow, the extra foam up front seems to give it a little more ease of entry, it’s a little drivier, and a tad more range on the low end without any any sacrifice that I’ve noticed on the higher end. Will definitely be ordering another when the time...

***The Official LA Isn't So Bad Thread***

That was Ricky the pirate. He used to hang outside the bars at night shooting the sh!t. Someone made this postcard (low grade phone pic from 2009) for him and he was handing them out one night:

I like them both. The originals are little more nimble and lean towards them in hollower stuff

The Great Unbiased Wetsuit Review Thread

My feral 3/2 is going on its fourth season and when new, was as warm as the excel 4/3 I had at the time. Even now it still does a good job protecting against the wind

Not apples to apples, but I have a habanero with a rerun deck profile. I really like the true Ames merrick smalls (they’re bigger than the futures medium and have more cant than the futures) in more predictable lined up surf. In more hap hazard beach break, I like the sharp eyes

HBO - The Last of Us

The Leftovers didn’t seem to get the props it deserved. Season one was fine, but seasons two and three were up there with hbo’s finest

I guess it depends on what you like. I tend to prefer stiffer fins and like the JJFs in everyday conditions, especially there’s some curve or push. More flex might be better in softer, flatter conditions.

Comparing the TA fins I have to similar futures fins, the TA fins all have more cant. The first JJF fins (black, blue and yellow) also have more cant than the current version.

I’m 155-160 and never thought to try them because they seem too small. I have a set of F6s and they are similar to the medium JJF, but with more pivot and less drive.

    Stubby Shortboard

Synth 84 is a good time. Picked one up on a whim to mix things up for everyday conditions and for a couple camless spots that require a hike. Only got five sessions on it before it creased on a building swell with some overhead hollow one. Still need to get it repaired and it looks like the...
