Aka driving back to CO to MA.
Got a late start td when I told my stepmom I’d do another dump run in my truck for smh. Never volunteer for anything

Last stop before the RI border is always
4660EB49-B833-46A9-9F3C-BC7AF21A61E8.jpeg

Just hit CT. Next stop Merritt Pkwy
Last time there was a bunch of traffic due to the big truck that was dumb enough to take it. Police escort so every bridge he could straddle lanes and just make it under. Dumb fuck.

Bunch a nerds charging their Teslas at the service plaza lol.

Not looking forward to the ever increasing numbers of NJ drivers I will be facing. Maybe I’ll end up with that malicious wounding charge I always wanted on my rap sheet sooner rather than later.

It’s amazing how many people with brain damage have managed to get divers licenses.

Also I can’t wait to be back in a state where they sell booze at gas stations. I ice down the cooler then forget to stop at the packy every time

In Gods Country
I was in MA/NH/ME a day after the Red Sox traded Nomar to the Dodgers.

Every third conversation I overheard in public began with "did ya' hear about Nomahh?"

Keep posting along the way, choki
be safe and don’t text and drive, but keep posting when you can

be prepared for the worst driver behavior, the closer you get to the ciTy, where every lane is a slow lane and every lane is a passing lane, squeezing through roadblocks of slow driving people, mostly not white males

Nomahh was wicked good. If your deep in New England that might not even understand when you say certain words unless you drop the are.

And don’t worry about me, I don’t even hands free while driving let alone text. I’m too busy checking all the idiots on the road. Wtf is up with rampant tailgating even when I’m just trying to chill in the right hand fucking lane going with the flow???

Where are you stopping? Driving across the country is a must for everyone I think. I did it twice, taking a northern and southern route.
Stopping in KoP, PA. Tm I’m heading to the DMV to get a duplicate title so I can get CO plates and DL finally not that half the town doesn’t have TX and OK plates the to storage unit where Ma’s stuff ended up to pack up hopefuly what’s left.

Did the N route going E, epic foliage. not sure about the way back. I want to drive through NM again, setting and leaving cruise control at 90 for hours is a rush not to mention the scenery and the worlds crappiest cars on the road.

I love driving cross country and pretending I’m a long haul trucker having been obsessed with BJ and The Bear, Convoy, etc as a youth.

I can’t wait to stop at all the truck stops again. Mainly for the lot lizards and crystal meth.

New Mex was one of my favorites but I wish I spent more time there. Arkansas kind of surprised me how much I liked it, but I was fly fishing the red river most of the time so that will cause some bias since it’s a legendary river. But it was beautiful As hell.

I’m going to try and take a little more time on the way back to stop and smell the roses along with maybe hitting up some antique stores looking for old woodworking tools.

Outside of the cities most states have some cool sh!t. Except for Kansas and Oklahoma.

Time for a hoagie and some water (wooder?) ice.

I say the same about OK but then I think back and did appreciate some parts of it.
A lot of my beef with OK stems from their inexplicable highway construction wtf along with almost being by killed more than once by drunken? oil field workers racing on the highways on weekend nights as I drove through.

Still not sure what route I’m going to take on the next leg of my journey but when the scenery gets epic there will be pictures etc

Found this place on a previous trip, Rochelle’s BBQ in Hurricane Mills TN
Best BBQ and the nicest people ever just bring cash or look trustworthy enough that they’ll take your out of state check.

Funnest dawn patrol I’ve had in ages. Just me and my buddy down the block. no other surfers for a half mile in either direction. Not perfect by any means. But mirror glass. Some fun stomach high sets, nice and shallow with the first light low tide. didn’t get a ton of waves but two of them were legit little pig dog barrels made cleanly. One of those was a barrel whilst traversing the outside of the jetty, from east to west, which always adds a little spice to the view, even on small days

that’s the end of my hijack, I’m actually really looking forward to how this thread goes. Be safe Chocki and have a blast and thank you for live blogging a cross country road trip. That’s epic.

you may be totally nuts but that’s part of the fun. America is a truly miraculous place
