i like the sentiment a lot, but I can’t get myself to say that instead of either “thank you”, or “I appreciate that”

I've gotten it once (at work), and it just looked forced and disingenuous.

I think it's originating from the "everyone wins" crowd and seeping into the heads of more or less normal people.

I've heard it a lot in the past few years, and have only ever heard it in Los Angeles. Was in the Bay Area 15 years and never heard it. I'll say I appreciate your time, attention, whatever, but it's really difficult for me to say "I appreciate you." It definitely feels more personal, to me, on the receiving end.
