Also read that the guy claimed to be a doctor but refused to provide a credential........interesting. Wonder if that's why you can't find his name in any of the reporting? Doesn't fit the group think or narrative???
Your hamstrings must be so strong from all the goose stepping.

So much for the free markut and competition, weeding out the bad companies.
We need government run airlines. :)

Like public buses.

This would have never happened if the government ran the airlines. :shameonyou:
No, we need regulation that will prevent airlines from fvcking the consumers.

The whole idea that market will sort itself out is obviously not working because the MARKUT consistently rewards the asshole corporations instead of making them go out of business.

In the meantime, Alaska buys the best airline in America and RETIRES IT. :foreheadslap:

WTF

If he really pulled his Dr. badge he deserved what he got.

"Do you know who I am!!!???"

Someone should have pissed on him as they dragged him off the plane.
My understanding is that medical personnel get special treatment by airlines. If he really was a doctor odds are if he produced any sort of proof of actually being a doctor he would not have been taken off of the flight.

That's BS if that's true.

Further, to try and get special treatment is just tacky.

Medical professionals are no better than anyone else. Just regular fcking people, many of whom couldn't find their way out of a paper bag.

I hope you never have a medical emergency on a trans pacific flight with no doctors on board after living off of Little Caesars pizza.

9/10 times if the doctor wasn't ER or a specialist in the specific issue I was dealing with I wouldn't want him to lay a finger on me.

Maybe when the government takes control of the airlines they will make it the law an emergency medicine doctor and at least two ACLS certified RNs are on board every flight.

They should be able to intubate and run a full code. Hell, throw a surgeon and anesthesiologist on there for good measure too. I guarantee you they will save someone's life at some point. That person could be you, frakkake. :roflmao:

United had unsuccessfully appealed for volunteers who were willing to give up their seats for $800, stay in a hotel and fly the next day. The passengers were removed so airline staff could get to Louisville to man a flight the following day.

When the appeal failed, United staff selected four passengers by computer. A manager told passengers that the unlucky four were chosen at random - although many airlines automatically choose passengers with the lowest fares and who were last to check-in to offload.

One couple and another passenger left the plane peacefully, but the Asian man refused.
Not that it really makes a difference, but it may be possible that the employee transfer situation may have cropped up at the last minute rather than being a deliberate overbooking situation.

They could have always purchased tickets for their crew members to fly on another airline and you know maybe show some concern for their customers. Pretty sure that wasn't the only flight to Louiseville

United Airlines Dr. David Dao Convicted of Exchanging Drugs for Sex

The passenger who was savagely removed from United flight 3411 is a medical doctor with a sordid history.

Dr. David Dao was charged in 2005 with 98 felony drug counts for illegally prescribing and trafficking painkillers. Prosecutors claimed Dao fraudulently filled prescriptions for hydocodone, Oxycontin and Percocet.

Dr. Dao was also convicted on 6 felony counts of obtaining drugs by fraud and deceit and in 2005 was given 5 years probation.

Dao was also convicted for writing prescriptions and checks to a patient in exchange for sex.

In medical board documents ... Dao denied paying for sex, but indicated he accepted sexual favors from an associate in exchange for reducing a debt that associate owed him.

In February, 2005, Dr. Dao surrendered his license to practice medicine in Kentucky. In 2015 the medical board lifted the suspension and allowed him to practice medicine with some restrictions. Last year, the medical board imposed even more restrictions -- now he can only practice internal medicine in an outpatient facility one day a week.
I'm not saying Dr. Dao's criminal past should cause him to be forcibly removed from a United flight. However, it might explain his belligerent response to law enforcement.

Lesson: When police tell you to do something, unless it's dangerous, do it. That said, apparently there's a congressional law which allows airlines to overbook passengers. However, the law doesn't force airlines to overbook. United just chooses to do it. Congress needs to change the law.

Also, United screwed up when they failed to bump the passenger before the flight boarded.

^^^ In hindsight that would have been the much cheaper alternative for them. A freaking Learjet flight for those employees would have been a more expedient alternative. Better yet would have been to identify their situation prior to boarding the passengers.

The security team really fkt it up for the airline. I don't have any idea what the training is for these people but if it doesn't already involve some attention to this sort of situation these agencies should be going back to out some remedial attention to it immediately. From now on every one of these mandatory removal situations are going to be filmed in great detail.

But was it homosexual sex? Good thing those brave police officers removed him from the plane before that homosexual made his way to the cabin and crashed the plane as part of the evil cabal of homosexual mass-transit kamikazes! Yay United! :dancing:

His past notwithstanding, none of that offsets the conduct and policies that led to this result.
