So I have logged about 15 hours surfing on the bobby qua. Wave range between waist high to 1.5x OH. Here's a brief review:

Fins: carver fronts, performer rears.

Wave ranges
  1. Waist high grovelling: meh, but not terrible.
  2. chest to head high: sweet spot
  3. Head to 1.5x OH: copes fine, but it's when I prefer a HPSB anyway.

The board holds surprisingly well for a small board. It definitely wants to be surfed aggressively and top to bottom which I like. Being a dedicated quad, it obviously isn't as pivoty as a thruster but it's nice to have a different feeling sometimes.

Loves being surfed on the backhand which was surprising to me. Definitely keeping it for a while.

Overall, I give it 7 tennis tours out of 10.

kind of odd to just change the rears. i actually like the am2 techflex rears as is. they are pretty similar to other sets though so no worries.

I had mine for a few months, but sold it.

Went very well on the backhand. I don't know how to describe it; it just seemed easy to surf and natural.
Forehand was a struggle for me for some reason. It's hard to describe why, but I think the shorter rail length and outline just didn't gel for me. After the honeymoon period wore off it got old real fast.

I would have kept it if I only went backhand. Plenty of other boards out there that surf great for me in both directions.

Did anyone else pick up on Biolos talking about Wiggolly Dantes? I think it was SITD or How Surfers Get Paid? Sounds like Biolos basically kicked Wiggolly off for selling/trading boards. Biolos said Wiggolly traded some new boards to a local shop in exchange for free food and it pissed off Biolos. Funny cause I haven't heard much of him for a few years now and the guy absolutly shreds!

Haha yeah was part of How Surfers Get Paid. Loved that Biolos told that story, if I remember correctly he said it happened multiple times. Do you remember that story with Wiggoly in Stab when he talked about his favorite sexual positions. I remember thinking that was weird as hell too.
