Regional Vic, Australia
Last lockdown not so long ago in May 2021 - not Victoria's fault - South Aus State quarantine breach travelled to Vic. In regional Vic where I am living 5km radius limit was allowed for essentials and exercise was limited to 2 hrs per day. Fortunately I have 2 surf beaches within 5km.

This was feb 2021

Current death toll from Covid 19 in Australia to date for 2021: 0
How many in an ICU: 1.
I wonder if the variant has anything to do with it. 4 People that I went to highschool with has died directly from COVID, and not "COVID adjacent" causes. These were all South Africans mind you.

One fella died last week, and his wife dropped dead 2 days later.

How old?

I think a lot of people think it's a non threat.

I don't think it's a non threat.

But the history of viruses is increasing infectiousness, decreasing lethality.

ie this novel corona virus is likely to become more infectious and less harmful.

Not sure how it's relevant, but yes.

Heavy red meat eating habits / tendency towards heart disease you reckon?
The Afrikaner diet might lend itself to obesity, heart disease, and diabetes.

Some are very large people - both height, natural build, and accumulated girth.

Most COVID 19 patients that end up deathly ill must be proned to save their life.

The logistics of this with very large people often delays care in a very busy COVID 19 setting.

Sounds like their lips dug their graves and COVID pushed them in.

Less than 1000 deaths in NSW. Doing better than a lot of CA cities, but sounds like some people not too happy with the lock down measures. Conspiracy theorists lining up against a over protective public health system.
Hard to argue that the OZ/NZ approach hasn’t been effective so far. Hoping to get back to NZ, but that’s not going to happen soon the way things are going.
