When I went to Dark Arts factory sale, Tony let me pick up a demo to try out the tech. I got a 5'3" Twinsman (dims: 5'3 x 19.18 x 2.18 x 26.6L). I must say that it feels extremely short and wide to what I'm used to riding. The fin placement feels good, but other than that, nothing felt really special about it. I rode it Saturday evening when there was a break in the rain. There was still a good amount of power in the water and the jetty had some nice rights lining up.

I did notice that the Dark Arts construction felt pretty stiff. I'm not sure if it's because the board is so small and wide, or what. I plan on riding it some more this week to confirm.

@ReForest Yeah, TMST doesn't need to be sized short like a fish. Mine is a couple in below my height. FWIW I think a lot of guys have said it favors front-footed surfers. Hope you are able to click with it if you give it a couple more surfs.

i think we're central
FWIW I had a stock 5'4" twinsman -- which in theory was the "right" size for me (I am 5'9" x 155). Felt insane under arm and had a couple moments of brilliance but was generally super frustrated by the board.

Sold it and since then have had a 5'9" and 6'0" twinsman round pins, both of which I love and found way more intuitive to surf so there you go....

Similarly, I have had more success on dims that differed from stock. Even the current Twinsman for sale on the website for Josh Kerr is different at 5'4" x 18.75" x 2.25" (27 Liters).

My Twinsmans (all work great): 5'8"x18.9"x2.38" swallow , 5' 10"x18.5"x2.38" round pin, and 6'5"x18.6"X2.56" round pin

Going the other direction as everyone else, this is too long for you. Aren’t you like 5’5?

mine is 5” under my height and I think shorter/wider would be better, for me.

the “AP” dims make much more sense to me for this shape.

all in all I don’t think you’ll like the twinsman, however. You ought to demo a plasmic.

I think a plasmic would be sick too. I found a plasmic "EAST" that is 5'2 x 19 x 2.3 that seems like it would be my size. Maybe after DA Vader I will get on that one.

BTW: I'm 5'6" and a half.

The Plasmic is a very, very fun board.....it´s the Album board from the quiver I ride most. It is fun in small waves, and you can ride it in some size. For me is at the level of the EVO in terms of speed and fun. Since I have the Plasmic, I have not touched the EVO.

With the 24 hr demo for free at Dark Arts you could potentially keep getting different demo boards infinitum if one lived nearby.
:D
I assume that loophole has a restriction that has closed it up?

What fins are most commonly rode in the Twinsman? Tony gave me to NVS Album Twins. Are those the most commonly used ones?
