Wow. If those boards can make Clay Marzo look that bad, imagine how unwatchable they can make an average surfer :barf:

@waxfoot come off it, 150%+ of the price for 50% of the effort. Marketing bullshlt. It’s ok to say something a girl is involved in is lame af. Like, make your money girl, but:sick: at $1200 regular ass shortboard

I'm liking the board names

Tryst
Bliss
Serenity

It's like pornstar names, but for surfboards.
I'm totally down with nominative determinism!

I was genuinely interested in the boards and the concept, but all the footage just looks…like people trying to milk a shltty twin fin.

good to great surfers, amazing waves… surfing that I do on my @drad1 clone cut off longboard square thing.

So… xcoco is just album with a tweak on dims and automatic resin abstracts?

tbh, I expected more from a marketing guy. this is as creative as the surf industry gets - (re)branding with ghost shapers.

I noticed the registered address is the same as album. sounds like mailbox income for coco. can’t blame her for selling her Hawaiian royalty status.

Watch it for Koa's Album board content as well as the great Pipe waves.
These North Shore brahs blow so hard. Is the non-stop cringe just for the camera or do they act that way in real life?

JJF and Nate come across well. Even Koa seems semi-real, but the rest are just puffed up chest cringe machines.

On topic: Still yet to try an Album...

EDIT: *Koa Rothman, not this Smith kook!

A wore a helmet a few times at a central coast spot where people wear helmets. It kind of fucked my neck up. The lip of the helmet would catch on the water and yank my head around. That rugby lid Koa is wearing seems like a better alternative.

Been looking into getting a Bom Dia. Reached out to Varial And DA. Dark Arts about $100 dollars more but both over $1200. Selling a couple boards to fund it so doesnt hurt as much but damn. Anybody have input comparing the same board in DA compared to Varial? Never had a Varial but heard good things. Have had a couple DA, Superchunk in DA that is magic. Thanks for any help.

I'd go varial just for the closed cell/ no water aspect. I was gonna pull the trigger on another xtr album before the price jump, no way I can do $1400+ for a plain stringered with color xtr.

I have never tried Carbon + Varial (only DA), but as far as I know, they have some challenges in sourcing the blanks and delays. I finally went for DA + PU.

I think Carbon + Varial should be a winning combination because of the closed cell.

I have DA Superchunk also, magic mushbuster. IMO DA is great for gravelors as they are so responsive and there’s a lightweight “on top of the water” planing feel to it.

My Varial carbon Insanity has a different feel. Not quite as light as DA; surfs closer to PU than DA. I think Aruka described it as “damper” feel, which sounds funny but I get what he means. I’ve had it in HH+ and it felt great. Really stocked on that construction. If cost were no issue, it would be my preferred build for SoCal DD /decent-good wave boar (close 2nd would be standard varial).
So, consider the waves you want the BD for. Personally, if the waves OH, I’d want PU/PE. But I think Duffy likes his ghost in DA.
YMMV
