I've heard this attributed to two things:We've also literally watched the juvenile population explode in our backyards from SB to SD.
climate change (of course)
and a change in migration patterns
No idea the validity of the above

seen swimmin' in thee loc' waterz off Los Angeles, 8 yearz ago ~ {2013}:
"Spot" should be an adult by now!
wa~ga!!!
i hope that he, or she,
this animal, an apex preditor,
whom lives 24 hourz a day, 7 dayz a week, out there,
is still alive, nourishin' it'z body by eatin',
+ it is by now: F**Kin' + Reproducin',

how easy it is to hunt ya, so as their buddies can then go, + get~cha, too,
hahaha...
Bigger populations of critters way down the food chain. Same reason we have been seeing soooooo many more whales nearshore here. More bait=more sharksI've heard this attributed to two things:

Quiet Sharktober.now october is over so theres no chance of shark attack!!
Years ago there was a good swell breaking at the base on the westside of Kauai. Some kind of big shark was cruising around about 25-50 yards from the lineup, plain as day. Everyone pretty much ignored it. Felt safety in numbers, I guess. I went in, but only because I'd been out for long enough.Been just as spooked at certain spots. Taste the water - salty - sharks
