When was this? When I passed through in '89, there was a ferry port there and little else.We spent the night at John O’groats (spell?) and had salmon for dinner.

Lagavulin 16 is delicious. It drives me mad to know it could be so much better if it was at least 46%, non chill filtered and didn't have artificial coloring... damn Diageo. I don't get the need to color whisky, it helps tell the history of how it was made. I love it when it's like pale straw color...I was gifted a bottle of this for Christmas. Very peaty, but so delicious.
