Clean and flat again. Hooray :cautious:

Can't believe how many days we've had that have been flat.

What's up with the Pacific pattern this winter? No storms rolling off Kamchatka?

Central California is flat right now?

Really? Even the swell magnets?

@r32 could you please sticky the 2022 surf journal so we can better capture the lackluster season?

thanks!

looks like my relatively new stepup and gun will just sit looking pretty in the garage.

Some spots have waves, but no real juice happening. Reefs have been really flat this winter.
Crazy. I would have thought you had a lot more exposure in that area.

So far, overall though, it is smaller this winter than last. Still pretty damn fun though.

Yah pretty sad for his family. Nobody saw it happen so the guy probably had no chance at surviving. There were a few other surfers down the beach and I'm wondering if he was able to yell or scream for help, or did it happen so fast he was dragged under and that was that.

Spots have been flat lately, but really puts into question surfing some spots up here right now. Spots where the paddle is about 1/3 to 1/2 mile out. Not easy to get back to the beach if something happens.

So flat, so crowded. Truck pulls up, guys get out half dressed already, pulling out boards. Doesn't anyone sit around and watch the waves for a while any more? Have some coffee, complain a bit?
Getting fun little ones on my weird Wales board anyways.

At this rate, going to have to buy me another longboard soon. One of those toes on the noes trimmer glider types that are impossible to duck dive.
