My daughter who lives in Brooklyn came to Long Island to visit, and was like wow, it’s like covids not a thing out here
And, yes, it wasnt
But now it is
And the Brooklyn daughter isn’t coming back for a while
Really? That’s horrible

save her

save her
Why?
We’ve got 2 confirmed positive covids in the family
She has some big that she’d have to if she catches it
So she’s staying away

Let’s say you had a big trip planned, would you go stay with people who have covid, orhave been excessively exposed recently?

Its an event you wouldn’t want to miss
Like including an international flight
Like a close friends kickass wedding
Like you’ve already spent money on it that you won’t get back

The type or location of her event itself isn’t the point. The point is it’s something she doesn’t want to miss

Do you visit the infected the week before that and risk missing out?
to me it’s reasonable to skip something not so special to reduce the risk of missing something unique
That’s basically the context of her steering clear of us

Sounds like good times I agree with all that. That's all perfectly reasonable. The unreasonable part was the going to Long Island from ${PlaceOnLongIsland} part.

Yes

COVOD does not affect my life

Also I’d choose holidays with my family over a trip

Technically it’s the same island, but it’s a different world

I deal with something similar every month for work. Test on Friday for a Monday flight (way back when 72 hours was ok, you know like 2 weeks ago). Lay low all weekend, so I wouldn't pop positive for the coof when I got selected for my 'random' test arriving in Canada. Then keep my distance for the 3 days I was there, so I wouldn't get stuck quarantining for 10 days. It sucks.

You fly every week?

That sounds horrible
