I think my custom fling is 5'8 x 20 3/8 x 2 1/2" and 32.4 (?) liters
I'm 180-185 and generally ride a little extra foam to account for the 5/4 suit.
It feels about right. I would probably go thicker if I ordered another one. Given that I only really surf it when the waves are small crap.

Akura, do you ever have paralysis of choice with all those boards?

I figured I'd doublecheck with Sparrow himself...and I guess that settles it;
my buddy is getting along with his fling pretty well. he sure hates it when I ask him if he's riding his fishnet stockings though.
Yeah sometimes it's hard to choose. I usually have 3-4 boards for different conditions that stay in my truck and I might rotate one or more out over a week. I don't struggle with switching boards too much usually, especially if it's something I've go some time on. The more different boards you ride the better you get at adjusting to differences, I think.
i have a 5'5 x 20 1/8 x 2 1/2 fling superflex. It's the 3rd one ive owned, I'd never go without one in the quiver again its that fun. had a 5'6 stock before this one, i like it better at the current size

Fishnet is durable and has great pop. When I was emailing with Koons (he stopped responding, must be too busy), he said he could airbrush the bottom (and top) to minimize the fishnet. I was going to spray the bottom dark navy/gray and the deck light blue.

That fishnet looks kooky as hell. Whenever I eventually cave to erBB influence and get a Fling I'd have to spray over it.
Not to derail our 43rd Fling thread, but Joji, the guy I've been emailing with at Akila, does pretty sweet looking sprays over the glass in HI. Lots of other examples if you scroll through his pics. Basically just spray + clearcoat like others have done on here, but his look great- been taking some inspiration to give it a shot DIY soon.
