Not to diminish his win, but half of the semi finalists had a long history of surfing small Oside. Jett, Levi, Zoe and Sierra have all spent a ton of time there. I will say his heat strategy on finals day was perfect. He had both heats won before the other guys knew what hit them.
The real story of the comp was Sierra. SO much better than everyone else. Won’t surprise me a bit if she wins the Challenger Series this year.
The real question is how many will survive the cut? Can Dane beat Filipe? Crosby over Griff? It’s a pretty tough ask.
They won't dominate the CT- they are future journeymen, if the Tour lasts that long and they can avoid the cut.
