If it were about states rights, there wouldn't be a bunch of conservative states poised to pass legislation making it illegal for a woman to cross state lines to obtain an abortion, nor would there be a push to enact a national ban on abortion if republicans regain control of the legislative and executive branches.
Less than 30% of america supports this, which tells me people don't see this as a states rights issue nor do they particularly care about states rights.
Abortions will continue even in the red states. People will find loopholes.

Why shouldn't state legislators and governor who are elected by the people of a state set the rules for their own state? Why should the Federal government step on the rights of the state in clear violation of the US Constitution for this issue?

Conservatives do not want a national law having anything to do with abortion. Conmservatives support the Constitution. The 10th Amendment specifically reserves all such rights "to the states respectively or to the people"

My wife’s parents were 17 and 18 when they made her. Got married and stayed married until her mom died.
I’m very glad it worked out well for them
