Dropping body fat is huge.

I used to have big shoulders from lifting weights and it just seemed to make paddling harder.

What you want is thoracic spine mobility and Low body fat.

But you can still dead lift and do pull ups and have that.

I like doing over head holds of a bar bell. I notice that help probably from increase mobility.

Has anyone mentioned surfing a lot?

Coors Light and once a month on the True Mexican.

As I get older I find that I seem to be way more susceptible to fire butt.

I found doing a lot of cardio helped more than anything.
yup. i'm a life long surfer with good muscle memory so maybe doesn't apply to everyone but running on treadmill helps me avoid noodle arms more than anything out of the water.

this is really helpful for me too! I didn't think running would be such a helpful activity!

Cardio for sure. If you don't overdose on carbs after a 3 hour session with alot of paddling, you might be fatigued the next day.
