Who could have predicted? The waves went to sh!t, Fleaper cant lose in these conditions.

I like the idea of a finals/playoffs. Realistically, there are only five or six people that have a shot at being champ (crazy that the two best surfers didn't make the finals this year), so why not take take that to make it more entertaining. But one day at lowers is lame. I say, take the top 6 and have three events in Hawaii to finish. Waimea, Rockies (when it's like head high), then end at Pipe. Lose two guys each even. At the end, the best surfer has proven themselves in big waves, progressive waves, and ledgey barrels.

north shore locals totally want 3 more events. And the financially struggling WSL totally has the cash, sponsors etc to do it. And Waimea breaks all the time! Super consistent and easy to run.

You realize the tour starts at Pipe, then Sunset, yes? The cut is heavily tilted toward guys who excel in bigger surf.
