For a moment there Costa Rica was winning and if they kept their victory both Germany and Spain would have gone home. Crazy.

It's good that they got a loss during the round of groups before the 'octavos' round.... at least the kids are through, and now know the hype can be real if they allow themselves to believe in it too much.
Wish I'd watched both matches, they sound pretty crazy, CR/Zee Germans & Spain/Japan.

That was a wild second half for the group. Spanish manager claimed he didn’t even know that at one point around 70’, Spain were going out if they didn’t score another goal… They still couldn’t score.
Gotta give Japan credit, beating both Spain & Germany and topping the group. Nobody predicted that. Had only 18% possession today… WTF!

What a weird round of 16. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if a team like Japan or Korea win it all.
This World Cup has been great, with the 2nd halve's containing all the action. There are some serious scrappy underdogs just fighting for it
