You obviously belong in a mental institution ,I really hope you have no acess to firearms
Its funny you say that because the political abuse of psychiatry is one of the go-to methods for rounding up political dissidents during a socialist takeover. Communists have a very limited amount of plays in their playbook.

There's some really good academic work on the subject. It's what governments do while attempting to install dictatorships, but the laws are still preventing them from outright murdering their opposition.

Something tells me you're aware of this already.

Has anyone read the abridged version?

My father has the three volume original, but he's more the academic/intellectual type (has read the trio twice).

I don't have that sort of patience.

He has always told me it's essential reading...

One of the better presentations on viruses and contagion I've seen....long but packed with information that you've likely never heard before. If you've spent any time on YT you've likely seen this 2.5 million subscriber channel Valuentertainment....
Go to 14:15 to get to the meat....

And a short segment on the Cinco Gee.....

And Doof....thanks for sharing the "info" on Alan Jones.....

Such hypocrisy. You are incredibly low in openess. Your bias to internalize anti-religious structure, with such a lacking in understanding its fundamental concepts, is a tell.

Its also a tell of a dangerous amount of pride...to the point where there is some serious disattachment from reality.
I disagree. :dancing:

I took that test and scored in the 94% on openness

Take the test and see how you do,

Understanding the concept of the test beforehand nullifies its accuracy. You projected the version of yourself you wanted to see by answering accordingly. You're playing tricks on yourself.

I don't really care about scoring high on openness.

It has great disadvantages. Any extreme trait does.

I would prefer to score higher on conscientiousness.

But I scored averaged on that trait.

So there goes your theory.

You seem really unhappy and combative.

What do you think is causing that?

Did you take the test?

Just for fun?

Back on track with real news regarding the virus:

The state has decided to let San Diego college students hold businesses hostage:

At least $300 million tax revenue in SD loss due to the shutdown - can't wait to see how they fix that.

I think their plan is to hope for a federal bailout. The tax base is being permanently killed with RoundUp, so a bailout is maybe a one-time fix. The state already has the worst business climate in the nation. The only thing keeping a lot of businesses here was that they are here.

CA as a whole has a $52 billion dollar deficit out of a budget of roughly $200 billion due to the COVID shutdowns. We arguably started the year with a $20 billion surplus (excluding unfunded obligations such as pensions). I'd say we've already lost roughly a third to half the year in tax revenue. The color-coded open/shut nonsense is going to make that deficit permanent. Anticipating this, the state assembly has proposed numerous tax hikes, mainly on income and of course the ballot measure that repeals part of prop 13. The last round of tax hikes only brought in 40% of the expected revenue. The latest round will bring in even less because businesses are shifting to remote work and once you've done that, it's easy to move HQ which will nullify the partial repeal of Prop 13.

If you don't like the water, you don't need to be in this state. Most businesses don't need to be here. Silly Valley likes being near China, but look at how well that worked this year.

The firms Moderna and Pfizer combined their vaccine initiatives which though odd
behavior for standard pharma-biz their motivation - to me at least - was kinda
interesting.......it was a public relations gambit to combat skepticism about
vaccines.

"As novel coronavirus cases surpass 16.2 million across the globe, Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, revealed 200 million COVID-19 vaccine kits could potentially be produced yearly from June by South Korea's SK Bioscience, a pharmaceutical company backed by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

In a letter to South Korean President Moon Jae-in, Gates, co-chairman of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, revealed that 200 million vaccine kits could be produced per year starting next June if SK Bioscience develops a successful vaccine, a spokesperson for the Cheongwadae (the executive office and official residence of the South Korean president) confirmed at a briefing Sunday.

Gates said he was "impressed by South Korea's response" to the novel coronavirus outbreak, noting he believed "Korea is at the forefront of vaccine development in the private sector," South Korea's Donga newspaper reported.

He said, "If SK Bioscience, which the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation supported for research and development, succeeds in vaccine development, it will be able to produce 200 million vaccines annually from June next year," according to the Cheonghwadae.

Gates said "we will further strengthen the cooperation between the Korean government and the Gates foundation," to work with Moon on other global health issues in addition to COVID-19, the letter said, South Korea's Hankyoreh newspaper reported."

^ Gates said his company will be ready to go in June 2021...which would explain his current prognostications.

When you read the "news", always follow the money. The "news" is just marketing, often for some billionaire who owns the paper.
