That'd be me. I don't have the "ins" but want to convey the bits that I hear. Figured our forum thrives on opacity.
And I appreciate you for that Sponge, as well as the many other posts/pictures you give us.
On our Spectrum channel 20 the Pipe Masters replays now have a banner that says next call on Thursday 12/17. Forecast double-o+ NNW with moderate offshores.
I'm obviously an expert when it comes to Hawaii forecasts. Having never been there gives you a different and unique perspective. 
They ran one whole day of non-elimination heats so they still have 25 heats left. Are the going to finish on Friday or try to get an extension? I'm wondering if they're going to run overlapping heats? I'm guessing not since it's not required by the city anymore.
West is best, seems like the perfect direction for pipe and probably(hopefully) a little too big for backdoor. I don't go out at pipe but I plan on being out nearby, I have high hopes for this swell.
Plus I believe they want to finish the women's Honolulu Bay contest at Pipe. That by itself will probably take 2-3 hours.

the WSL website says the call will be at 7am, hoping that's the case (and they might need the extra 30 min).
I think they'll have time to finish the whole thing.They'll obviously run today, tomorrow also very likely and the last day of the waiting period is due for some new swell, I think 3 days is plenty of time (they might even wrap up early tomorrow if it gets too small too quick and still have time to finish it all on Sunday).

Guy Hagi on Hawaii News Now said the contest starts at 0800 hrs Hawaii time which is in 45 minutes.
