The whole Port of Baltimore looks to be shut down for weeks. There's gonna be some regional economic pain starting in just a few days.
The ships that hadn’t made port can be rerouted. The ships that were in port aren’t going anywhere for the duration. Maybe they’re insured for something like that?

I don't know the area that well but assuming that's a main port entrance, thus they need to completely recover

Bodies
Vehicles
Containers
Ship parts
Entire bridge

That's going to take a ton of crew, divers, and lots of very heavy equipment.

And here come the conspiracy theories....

:roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

The bridge is half in the water and he's like, look at the dynamite. The Illuminati, Rothschild, and Triads need to give the freighter people's family's luxury residences, and whoever did the dynamite should be disappeared to Navalny Winter Wonderland.

Never realized how many mentally ill people there are in the US until about the last decade. Astounding how many don't have the capacity to accept reality.

That area will recover pretty quick, especially with all the resources of the G thrown at it. Figure it for a month.

LOLOLOLOL at least a Baja-tier murder hole like Baltimore you can get a freighter upside a bridge. Little Rock, St. Louis/East St., Memphis, Indy, Gary, Dayton, Cincy, Toledo, Detroit, Cleveland, Buffalo....

The terrorists will be lucky to make it out of the concourse at the airport.

really interesting.

"the key bridge has almost no redundancy"

"pillars not prepared to handle modern cargo ships"

sounds like if we kept up with our infrastructure this may not have happened.
Our infrastructure is so massive, seems like gov is overwhelmed trying to keep track of it all. They can't even repair potholes in a reasonable amount of time.

Keeping track of the condition of 600,000 bridges in the US, plus highways, barriers, overpasses, roads, etc. seems impossible. Then there is the money needed to fix it all. It's an interesting quandary.

we have more, but we also have more people and more tax revenue. it's a very solve able problem, and you don't have to be perfect, but more than we are doing is obviously needed.

dont want to derail the thread or turn it political or anything, but large problems are solved every day by competent organizations. yet every administration for a long time seems to largely ignore this problem and things get worse every year. driving is bad these days.

I wish there was a way to track the tax dollars and the gov. spending that they were supposedly intended/used for.

I don't believe for one second that the tax money is being used for it's intended purpose.

Ok, sorry. Didn't mean to get political.
