ahhhh they were stuck in gridlock.
afraid of getting shot when they got out of the truck.

many things could happen but one of the worst things did.
they never got control of the situation until they killed everyone.

the first thing they did was surround the truck and start shooting, which leaves no other options. if they were afraid the truck would start running over stuff, shoot out the tires. steering that truck with no front tires is not going to happen.

Where is the culpability of the court system which treated these poor abused citizens with kid gloves?

Alexander was a felon with a lengthy rap sheet, including armed robbery, according to the station.

Florida Department of Corrections records show Alexander was convicted of robbery with a deadly weapon in Lee County in 2009, the station reported. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison and released in 2017.

Hill was also released from prison in 2017, WPLG reported. He had a series of convictions for burglary and robbery.

The shootout took place after Alexander and Hill robbed a Coral Gables jewelry store and then hijacked a UPS truck during the getaway…..

About 90% of the pursuits I was involved with ended up at an intersection, usually with a collision. Of course, I was working in a suburban community, not patrolling freeways or a rural area that's lightly populated.

This happened because two career jackasses committed armed robbery. In virtually every state any death subjects the initiator(s) to charges of first degree murder. That's because robbers who pull guns etc are using the threat of death. If death of any kind ensues then, guess who's fault it is.

right on, that resolves cops of any responsibility.

We should ignore the law, the judicial system or code of conduct and just kill innocent people.

Because robbers exist.

Wow, just fucking wow.

I knew this was coming from you, defending the undefendable.

Gross. You are what's wrong with cops in this country.

Provoking a shootout on a busy freeway with innocent people AND using a citizen's car full of people as a shield.

How about following the vehicle from the air and waiting for the safe moment to make a move instead of killing a hostage and putting many other people in danger?

Well said. We shouldn't allow police officers to arrest people for breaking the law or threatening innocent people. Besides, some of those guys are dangerous, and shouldn't be messed with.
