That depends on you and your spouse as a couple and as individuals.

There is a lot more to it than just surfing.

You have to decide what you want out of life as a whole and how much instability you're both willing to tolerate.

I was thinking of relocating and probably everyone where you went that isn't a sh!t hole you would be unwelcome.

On the North Shore a few years back there were some Panamanians staying on the same floor as me.

They would not STFU about how Panama was a total tourist paradise.

They blabbered about it endlessly to every guest who came through.

I have a general rule that when people from a particular country or city blabber incessantly about how great it is...it's actually a total shithole.

Like New Jersey.

If you never had to leave town I think San Clemente would be my place to be. I really like the location and climate there and there is a good variety of waves nearby.
if u like obscene crowds, San Calamate is a good place. super crowded surf even when small and super expensive.
