High school is for more than just the motivated student
i needed high school
doesnt mean I wanted to work hard at it
Yeah but if you can get a teacher and a full classroom for an Honors/AP English class that's an
outstanding reason to have one.
We didn't really have Latin American students in Vero Beach in the late 90s but we had African American students, and although they were under-represented in Honors/AP classes, I don't see how removing that option for those students of color that were in those classes would do anyone any favors. Those kids could read the writing on the wall better than anyone, and it was a growth opportunity for a subset of white kids whose parents told them black people can't swim or do long division to see those students apply themselves alongside the school's brightest.
I'm also a little leery of where this takes us. A couple more balloons and any red state with an Asian enclave, are they going to cancel AP Calculus because Honky McCracker is a plurality instead of a majority?
I mean Governor Potatoface here is threatening to burn the whole thing down because it plays well with the dip-addled base he needs to win the primary, all because one class they'll practically offer in like half a dozen massive inner-city high schools that actually have the student base and the interest hurts his fee fees and the people in charge didn't lick his ballsack and say thank you Sir, may I have another when he Karen-cancelled the one course.
Is this school in LA shorting five to ten kids, or are there classroom(s) of kids who want these classes and some admin is pulling a Democrat DeSantis for LA/CA politics?
