My in-laws' garden in MT. Lots of critters to contend with so it's caged in to keep the deer out, but also has chicken wire under the raised boxes to keep gophers out.
Same here...four weeks in and everything is growing like weeds.Garden is pumping.
Are those Marigolds mixed in there?Same here...four weeks in and everything is growing like weeds.
Marigolds are the ticket for bringing the bees in. I forget which of the pest insects they also repel. Always plant Marigolds in and around the garden. Finally at a point where we can start gearing up for a late summer early fall garden. Are those Marigolds mixed in there?
Sweet, thanks for the info.Marigolds are the ticket for bringing the bees in. I forget which of the pest insects they also repel. Always plant Marigolds in and around the garden. Finally at a point where we can start gearing up for a late summer early fall garden.
Yes, they are a good natural pest control/repellent. The limonene in marigolds deters whitefly, and their roots also secrete alpha-terthienyl, a chemical that inhibits the development of nematode eggs. The flowers also act as a decoy to attract slugs & snails away from your veggies. Basil and Nasturtium are also good for repelling whitefly. Are those Marigolds mixed in there?
