Anyone who buys a board just because the board came first in a board test, deserves to get burnt.
Proof of the numbers can be found in SB CL board listings of oversized CI models OTR barely used for the great price of $580 meantime back at SB CI/Burton over stocked room of blemished boards of all models and sizes for $500.

I just scrapped my "good wave board" and got $120 for recycling it, since it is a fibreglass thing (you get money if you deliver boats, windsurfers and luckily surfboards too!). So I need a new board. I weigh 170lbs and im 6'1". My shitwave board is 32L, would that be too much for a good wave board? I think my last was 29L.

Not necessarily. How does your 32L shitwave board work for you? I would definitely go above 29L and probably shoot for 31-32L given your height/weight and the fact that you surge in cold water while wearing a thick wetsuit.

The volume is good, but it doesn't work when the waves are decent. Too wide tail and overall thickness. As long as the tail is sufficiently narrow and the rails are thin 32L should be ok probably?

Yeah I think so. Lots of stock dim HPSB's in the 6'1 to 6'3 x 32L range that should work for you. Some will hide foam better than others.

You need to practice using your knost jazz hands and put that board on rail more or maybe more deadlifts with kettlebells.

@freeride76 , You reckon Kale is better than Noel? Kale didn’t get into the fins like Noel does and Kale didn’t tell me to grab my favorite drink and enjoy his show either….

@trifish I was disappointed on the FE too. I think that board work for a lot of people and him not liking the board was due to his surfing not that the board wasn’t good. He also said he didn’t like the Scifi! (WTF!) (n):ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

@GromsDad , I thought that exact same thing but there were actually 4 HPSB squash tails. Just none that were as knifey as the Sharpeye. Squash tails were: (1) The Mayhem subdriver 2.0. (2) The Pyzel Ghost. (3) The LSD. (4) The Hayden Shapes cohort. The Merrick was a rounded pin.

Lennox Head.
I think Kale shits all over Noel.

but that just might be a parochial thing.

I think he is more articulate and more knowledgeable and I like his surfing more.

he also surfs a greater variety of waves than Salsa.

I quickly realised that a board test at Trestles has zero relevance to me. I know people on here think otherwise.

Kale's tests have only slightly more relevance to me, but I find him more entertaining.

kale's surfing in that right at the end of that most recent youtube video is much more enjoyable to watch than noel salsas (to me). Flow is better, turns are more dynamic, and his surfing is much less mechanical. While Salsa for sure surfs well, I do not at all enjoy watching him surf. It's like watching a middle aged man try to surf a wqs heat in 2010.That doesn't mean he doesn't surf well, it's just not really something I want to watch if given the option.

Personally, I didn't think the flat earth looked good under Kale's feet at all. I'm sure it goes great for some people.

That sharp-eye looked great though. They used to have a shop down the street from me, have lots of friends who have ridden them, few friends that have ridden for him-- somehow I've never ridden one though, and I would like to change that

Kale is definitely less mechanical than Noel and fun to watch. He was ripppping that right hander in the 3rd video.

He was very deliberate and articulate in his explanation in the 3rd video (which i liked) too.

He made me want to try a twinsman.
