Jimmy Buffet is as friendly and down to earth guy in the dirt lot at Ditch. Doesn't surf any better than he did when he started surfing however many decades ago, but he's always smiling.
I surfed with him at Ditch and St Barths. He's doing pretty well for 70 - something. And you're right, he's always smiling in the water. Shoots, I reckon he doesn't have much to be sad about.

Oh crap, that reminds me!!!!!!!

Stone Temple Pilots. For the win.
I’ve been hearing more STP on the radio recently and thinking I never really gave them a fair listen

The 90s was overflowing with musical talent

I'm sure Tom petty has 3
:rockin:

One of the musical genius of 21st century
This is another artist that I never really appreciated until he wasn’t around anymore

Consistent quality is very hard to achieve in rock n roll

Thanks VB surfer. I found myself in a record shop yesterday and picked up this. Rad, and epic vinyl pressing. Wasnt familar with him but now a fan.

The “Autumn Leaves” take from that album is one of my absolute favorite songs ever

It has this weird mixture of melancholy and badassery

All kinds of stuff on my list already mentioned, including ALOT of bands with 2 'perfect' albums, but not three.

Didn't see these guys mentioned, and there's not one song I ever skip on these 3:

Social Distortion (self-titled) - 1990

Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell - 1992

White Light, White Heat, White Trash - 1996

It's pretty amazing when musicians have a period of heavy creativity and totally reinvent their sound over & over again. The Beatles/Bowie were it for my parents, for me it was Outkast. Every album in the 90s blew our minds and was great party music. Big Boi is carrying that legacy into the future pretty well IMO. Other greats: Clash, Elvis Costello, Kinks, Husker Du/Sugar/Bob Mould...music is great.
