Quick ride report.
Surfed my 6'0 (aging man volume) Varial Lightbender this am. Weak, short period poo poo waves.
II can already tell this thing is a keeper. Paddles sooooo well. Generates speed with ease. Got in a few shitty turns too. A rather sub par wave day turned into pretty darn fun. Felt good both front and backside. Warm water, good vibes, solid board. I honestly think I could get away with just surfing my Townsend and Lighbender and be covered. I know...blasphemy.

Jordy L fronts, NVS quad rears.

Album fan boy for life. Matt just knows what works.

My freshy Varial Bom Dia remake has been sitting there in my rack for 4 months while I rehab my knee. Waxed and padded and yet to be ridden. FML.

How did you size yours? Glassing? Lets see some pics!

I would like to point out that Matt also doesn't want goofy-footers riding that model.

I just ordered one last week. 5'10x19.88x2.6 in Varial. Pretty sure I'm going to like it as I've had some really good boards from Matt. My varial twinsman and DA plasmic are my daily drivers. Would love to hear more ride reports on it

Wonder how different this is from an insanity. Seems like it's the same front end with a slightly widened asym tail.

fxd.
My insanity tail is pretty foiled. Would be curious to feel up a vesper / BomVesper. The descriptions all make it sounds cruise-ier.

I think I've only used it as a quad so far. Goes great.
Sigh. It feels like we haven't had any swell in months, but I can't wait to ride it again.
After much experimentation I've settled on running mine as a quad too.
yeah the insanity really wants some swell doesn't it? in my experience it's much closer to high performance than daily driver

And looks like they finally found another home for that magic, plasmic channel in a more performance oriented package, not high-performance, but call it mid performance maybe?
