My latest I did the retro laminate 40 years.
PSA: for any album-curious in SD, BirdRock Surf Shop got a few Twinsman, Insanity, Moonstone in stock last week. All clear PU/poly. There to be fondled and YOLOed…

Do I want 4/4/4 or 6/4/6 or 6/4/4?
Maybe S Glass instead of going up to 6?
Anyone know if 4S is stiffer than 6E?
They're saying most who order Twinsman get 6/4/6. But I'm guessing most of those weigh more than me at 155.
I assume that with the concave deck, flex isn't going to be much of a concern. But finding the right balance of weight and durability is, I suppose. For alt constructions, I've liked coil, spinetek, stringered eps epoxy with 4/4/4, stringered Pu/epoxy with 4/4/4, and stringerless eps with 6/6/6.

If you like the weight of OG 4+4/4 pu/pe, go with at least 6+4/6. It will still feel lightly glassed bc infused poly is so dialed in.
don’t over think it. albums are glassed heavy OTR.
Varial 4s are v light.
646 feels great- still feels light to me, especially in bigger, more powerful surf. I’d agree with sdsrfr 646, but it’s really personal preference. Depending on conditions and your weight, maybe you could consider 644 too

Love my roundpin as a mini-stap. Had to see what all the Twinsman swallowtail hype was about. @racer1 calling it an all-time fave.
YOLOed the 5’10 stoke clear poly.
Someone needs to explain how it’s $50 cheaper to buy OTR at a shop than direct from the maker. Man, Matt Parker is taking all the margin he can get while the gettin is good!

You duus missed the boat. I got all my albums (lateblander, twigsnberries et al) before they were on the sight...right before the pandemic hit. Still in the $7-800 range. Now im just hodling these motherfvckers.

Twinsman best high performance board I’ve ever had.
First impression from maiden voyage in fun 3-5’ punchy reef rights. Coming from the roundpin, this shorter length (3”) and swallowtail stepped down perfectly for more average waves. Same flat deck and rail foil felt totally intuitive. Did everything I wanted it to.
Compared to Lightblender, pretty similar to surf IMO, maybe a touch less fishy. #overlap
