I made Essene bread once, on a lark. Malted red wheat ground to a pulp and spread on a hot rock to bake. Good cracker. I chose the Essenes because they were the Jewish sect whose apocalyptic vision most likely inspired Jesus, Mary, Joseph, the shepherds and all the others to go on a prophecy fulfillment tour. It was a big hit. They were so brilliant--all of them--flawed, but brilliant.

Avocado” derives from a word meaning “testicle”.
The word Avocado comes from a Nahuatl Indian (Aztec) word “ahuácatl” meaning testicle. It is thought that the reference is either due to the avocado’s shape or the fact that it was considered to possess aphrodisiac qualities by the Aztecs.
