Great quality for price yeah. Their crianza and riserva is available in California. I seen 'em around.I dunno about roble bottling.

Ribera del Duero DO has to be 75% tempranillo. Protos is 100%.
This is the one I am currently investigating....

Rioja, 2017....

For a whopping €5.35

Worth every Euro penny, so smooth!

Dunno that Rioja but Riojas I enjoy are:

Carlos Serres
Muga
Lopez de Herredia
Hazana

There's probably other I've forgotten about.

All are very good, but Lopez de Herredia is an icon. They hold their sh!t back years, current vintage on market is 2008 I think.

There are some good 3L bag in box wines, sure.

Borgia Garnacha and they make a macabeo blend also
Clos de Lumieres Cotes du Rhône
Ananto (Bodegas Sierra Norte) does red, white, rose

Hmmm, 3 liters of bagged wine seems like overkill for my situation.

Just need a 1 liter polycube. That size would fit in my backpack easier.

The man likes his northern rhones. Cote rotie can be the shiz. Andrew Murray makes some co-ferments like that in SB County. Interesting how it came to be. One of their syrah vineyards mistakingly got a small bit of viognier planted in it and they said phuk it and made it in that same style. Watch Hill and Roasted Slope vineyards.

Andrew Murray makes some of the best Syrah in CA for sure. I used to sell a lot of his wines.

Best Syrah in CA I ever had was a 2007 Arcadian, Sleepy Hollow Vineyard. Man, that dude knew syrah. IIRC, the vineyard was ripped out in 2008 and replanted to pinot noir. Shame to follow the money rather than grow the best syrah in California.

Great California Syrah is tough to find. Especially cool climate where you get the black pepper compound (Rotundone). Even more infuriating is that most wineries who have access to that fruit insist on making the most overpowered Robert Parker bullshiat out of it.

Picked this up. Good, zero tannins and fruity as sort of expected. I like the more mineral driven IT wines but this is pretty good, maybe would bang again for $20/bottle. Wanted to grab their nebbiolo but it was $60. Fvck that sh1t.
