For example, we see Graham just debasing himself while Low Barr and whoever in the DoD pipeline hasn't protest-resigned get the jobs he wants (AG/SecDef).

Pence's guy, Nick Ayers or whoever, was tapped for X, Y, and Z, like a non-family Kushner, and the instant he got wind of it, he bailed back to Georgia, damn near instantly like the devil owed him a golden fiddle, all kids and family pretext.

Gaetz normally spends all day shining Trump's knob, pulled mini-Rand Paul/Mike Lee on the war powers thing, and instantly didn't get to be one of the House members on the Trump Team for Senate funtime.

Cotton seems to be lying low for the time being.

Romney seems to think the GOP is going to time-machine back to 2000 and nominate him again....

People who still want real news will seek it out and patronize those outlets. You tube Moran channels are simply an extension of Fox News, not a replacement for BBC and Reuters. CNN and MSNBC are the other side of the coin as Fox News, but all are mostly opinionated inflammatory garbage.

You are also ignoring the portability aspect of podcasts versus print or even TV news. I can start/stop/rewind/FF when I want, and I can listen while driving or cleaning or gardening. It’s simply a superior delivery vehicle, which is a big part of why podcasts are so successful.

Not to say that youtubers do not play a role, but to say that’s the real reason is to ignore several other driving factors, all of which were in progress before YouTube based news was a thing. But I know your brain struggles with non-binary thinking.

I agree that people will move to podcasts or YouTube channels that show them the types of news they want to see that is on par with their education level. However we do not have droves of NYT subscribers and NPR donors deciding to watch basement troll you tube news. Most of those types were Fox News watchers at best, if they even watched the news in the first place.

Your more younger liberal patrons may pivot from NYT to something like Kyle Kulinski or David Pakman, who are more or less filming in the style of TV news, yet are still mostly fair and left of center. People like the portability aspect and the lack of gatekeepers.

You could make the argument that You Tube news channels are the nail in the coffin, but the trends hurting the media have been in motion for years, if not decades.
