5'8 lost lazy boy
5'11 VS Shadow (I ride this about 60% of the time)
6'0 lost QK
6'3 Roberts Black Cobra(slimmed down dims - step up)
6'4 VS Time Machine (slimmed down dims - step up)
9'4 DT log

In Oz
5'8 CC Fish
7.0 Joel Fitzgerald Sea Gypsy single fin

I find the two Oz boards cover just about anything I go out in. I have another 3-4 boards stashed away in the islands that I have not ridden for years. I need to give them to local kids or something. Its hard to sell them there.

2 board quiver for this coming California winter...

6'4" Pyzel Phantom
5'10" Bushman twin Keel fish

I need a longboard and a paddle board and I'm good. If there is anyone in the South Bay who would be willing to let me stash a 12' prone paddle board at their place I will rent the space for 24 high quality beers per month.

To me minimal is two boards max.

So mine would be fairly extensive.

5’3 Roberts twin
5’3 Mccallum
5’4 Christenson twin
5’6 Ci dumpster diver swallow tail
5’7 DVS rocket fish
5’9 Roberts black dump truck swallow tail
6’1 Roberts g step up
6’4 HIC step up
9’0 Hobie Terry Martin
11’6 Bark handshape prone paddle/surf hybrid

Have a new 5’9 and 6’1 on way from Roberts to replace those in quiver.
Did you get rid of the 18’6” Bark UL I sold you a couple years back?

Pretty minimal at present:
6’1” Mini Merk
6’4” Shelter round pin
9’6” Wynn Si Si Slider
4th Gear Flyer Surf mat
1 pair of Da Fins
1 pair of Duckfeet fins

The Mini Merk is proving to be exceptionally versatile...I think I like it better than my Octafish as a daily driver. I’ll probably need to order a back up/replacement for it by spring or summer. The Shelter is asically my step up now, even though it’s standard hpsb dims for me. The Merk is just too damn good.

My wife & I have been talking about taking a 10th wedding anniversary trip to the Maldives when that milestone rolls around, so I’ll likely order a clone of the 6’4” Shelter. Last time I was in the Maldives I rode the same board the entire trip until I bashed the rail in w/ my elbow. My back up on that trip was less than stellar.

fkn nice.

curious to hear your thoughts on that Phantom when it arrives.
I rode a buddy's phantom and loved it
they're flat and fast
good up to head high and change

I think it would max out pretty quick at ob
That's interesting since it supposedly has the same rocker as the Ghost which isn't super rockered but is definitely not flat.

Glad to hear you liked it though I'm about to put in an order with XTR for a round tail version.

Really really feeling the phantom. Seems to be one of those boards that just does what you're thinking rather than feeling like you have to coerce it to do what you want. I've been riding it in some chunky OB and I'm impressed by its capabilities. XTR is pretty solid also.

I haven't surfed the stoker in 2 years and every time I think about selling it i cringe. Why?? I typically surf the same 4-5 boards depending on conditions but can't let the rest go.

Have you been able to thin down to a minimalist quiver? Do you have regrets letting some gems go that you just don't surf?

5 10 coil FBF/Simm combo
5'10 Coil minisimm
6 0 Stamps fish
6 2 blur
6 3 stoker v
6 4 Aleutian juice (parameter) stoccy
6 6 bonzer e-wing egg
6'6 Rawson Sniper
6 8 Aleutian juice (Parmenter) vector
7 0 christianson flat tracker 2.0 (thruster)
9’0 Pearson Arrow
9’6 takayama
how do you like the Christianson FLat tracker?

no regrets. Probably gonna sell the Bonzer next. great board but too small now.

I like the FT. Easy to ride for me so especially good when i haven't been in the water in a bit. It's a 7'6 so it's pretty bulky but fun for glide and flow. I'm a terrible tester of what the board CAN do, but for me, its a great board for early entry, glide and easy surfing.

Minimally extensive

Usually 4-6 boards
5’8 gravel
5’10 stap down
6’0 hp squish
6’1 hp RT
6’2 hp+RP
6’6 RP

When they get used and abused I replace them with shinier newer versions

OK to change things up a bit if you could only have 1 board in your quiver, what would it be? Only 1 yoz!

i’d take my lost quiver killer
When I bought that board last year, it was the first board I had bought in 7 years.
----------
My usual daily driver is a network of poorly repaired dings, plus a couple that are sucking water from God knows where. Board is great for about a 90 minute session and then has to be dried out for a few days. Perfect for getting into paddling shape, like trying to paddle a cinder block.

I fucked up when I got the lost Qk and actually adhered to volume estimates (first board I ever bought where liters were part of the dims) so I got too much volume. Was going to sell it until taking it out that last good swell a couple weeks ago. That extra volume was really good for heaving barrels and the shorter board length is good for the late drops into them. Good for bigger waves but I still need a new daily driver. I predict a Xmas gift to myself.

Another new board...no more props for you, man
Never got around to that new board so I'll keep the original props. :ROFLMAO:

Right now have the following (all thrusters):

6'6" Senate (full of dings and delams but functional) - thicker version of the one I snapped the other day
6'6" Lost QK (need to get off ass and sell)
6'7" Lost roundpin (step-up that negates the need for the QK, especially since it also turns)

6'3" Aloha - guest board
6'6" Lost Speed Demon - money board but with 2 massive buckles that have gone through 3 attempted repairs to no avail. Template board.
8'2" Proctor semi-gun - someday. Haven't had a need to surf it for a long time.

10'0" Jeff Bushman Twig model
9'1" Jeff Bushman Sea of Joy (great longboard)

My kid (18) is the same height/weight as me and is the one getting the most out of all these boards right now... happy for him, sad for me that my work season started right as the North Shore started to crack! Damn it. He's got a taste for Pipeline (goofyfoot) and says the Sunset boards work great there. I got a text yesterday from a friend that said "Your kid is ripping on your new quiver!" I have mixed emotions.

California quiver:
6'1" Channel Islands Twin Fin
10'0" Byron Olson Glider Fish

I try to get in the ocean every day while I am working here in CA. Living in the van makes it easier. I take a lot of inspiration from surfcat and PPK. They are, to me, the greatest examples of surfing and living with grace, humility, and style. Mahalos boys, hope to see you both soon...

That’s a giant Qk. They need to be ridden shorter imho.

Oh. Wait. I think it's actually a 6'4".

My rationale has always been that a good board is an extension of your feet. A great board is an extension of your eyes and a magic board follows your mind.

And then the QK is like balancing on a log rolling down a river.

I am going to pass on the "get this 3.5 inches shorter and 0.5 inch thicker than your normal HPSB" boards and just get another tried and true HPSB and Terry shapes them damn good.
