I’m about 6ft and 95kg. I had some success with the pancho fins but found them a bit sticky due to the large tip area. I ran them with a ea centre. Since moving to fcs 2 my go to set is the carver xl sides with a carver medium centre fin. It is like a larger am set. It seems to work well as an all round hpsb set for me in mid coast nsw.
for my step up I use the same carver set if it’s 4-6ft. Any bigger and I use traditional fibreglass xl soar dahlbergs. But I am still experimenting with step up set up.
larger fins do make me be more deliberate. I have to commit earlier. I need to read a wave better because I can’t be as reactive. The benefit is more momentum and it tends to smooth out my surfing.
back in the days of fcs one I saw a set of Joel Parkinson fins and was amazed by the size of them. Thinking about it now, the large fins he rides probably help his smooth carving approach.

Hadn't seen soar, hard to find XL fins in general.

I’m hoping to give the Gabby set up a go tomorrow (or when conditions permit) with my Stamps Fuse. I got a knee brace to keep my LCL stabilized which I tweaked in Kauai the week before last. The Fuse (Varial carbon) doesn’t have the get up and go with the several truster and 2+1 setups I’ve tried compared to my Kai-Zen twin and Flare. Hoping to make the bort a keeper.

I’m 6’4” and 95kg have found the mick fannings in large to be a great option for a bigger guy for FCS2. A little bit less area than fins listed above but 36 degree sweep adds some hold, narrower tip still allows release when you push hard. Keen to give the Filipe fins a go for a slightly more upright option, anyone given them a go?

Not sure they ship outside oz? They are the only tailored option I’ve found other than fcs for the fcs 2 box. Quality is right up there. Being solid fibreglass makes them better suited to good powerful conditions. Call me a heretic but I like rtm for general smaller beach break situations.

I’ve had my eyes on a set of Dhd large. Looks like a good blend between neutral and raked fins.

LOLOLOLOL

So the Accelerator LRG and CC LRG are extremely similar to the point of possibly being identical?

The Carver XL are kinda big IMHO, the DHD, I have those, and they're okay-decent but I'm not a fan of 80/20 fronts. The Pyzel are good where I live in high tide inside sandbar wedges, which we've had lots of problems getting sand to line up for it in recent years - thanks beach renourishment fucking the inside and summer flat spells fucking both.

There's four of these fucking things with 33.7 degree sweep. Four. The DHD have some stupid meme foil that's applicable for Hawai'i and West Oz and kinda feels slow in anything other than storm chunk or pretty good Nexpa. The Carver XL are suitably swept but the gap between them and the JS large is vast.

You tried as a quad yet? That's been my Fuse preference

I've been considering them as well but have been leaning towards the Sharpeye template instead because they are very similar but slightly bigger.

I got the Mayhem L set as a more upright option but they feel a little too small.

No, I didn't order with five plugs. I previously never preferred a bort as a quad to a tri, so recently abandoned ordering the five fin option.
Ahh bummer.

I'm generally the same way, but if/when I get another Fuse I'm not even going to get a center box.

I run both. MF's are my favorite fin and I use larges in all my borts other than my Ghost, where I use mediums. I'll put the FT larges in when it's shorter interval/bowly, and looks like I'd be making quick turns in the pocket.

The mayhem large worked perfectly in a low rockered 6’4” 80’s style shortboard. They have good height but reduced base. In a more time contemporary 6’4” shortboard they lacked both drive and hold. Oh, the rabbit holes…. I am generally happier with more fin area and base in a more “ medium “ modern hpsb rocker.

Rode my 5’6.5” Fuse this am with the Performer XL’s and a large trailer and it made the bort a definite keeper. Waist to shoulder lumpy, but with some hollow/rampy sections. Had a LOT more drive, but I could still get in/out/above the lip pretty easily. I didn’t get any sections that allowed a full wrap, but felt pretty lively on some mid face snaps. Night and day compared to the KA larges I had been running.

I was pretty stocked with the sesh. The day got more somber at Greg Browning’s induction into Hermosa’s Surfer Walk of Fame. His ALS progression gets worse every few weeks. It was amazing seeing the huge outpouring of love and support. It’s tough seeing someone you’ve known for 40+ years have such a rapid decline. His attitude with what he’s facing is nothing short of inspirational.

I’ve found these.
