I thought the US did it? I swear that’s what I read here. Ifail ssid 100% chance. Gromsdad was sure. Duffy said 70% chance.

Weird.
I said no such thing. I haven’t even so much as implied in any way who might have done it, other than Greta or the black mermaid.

Technically true. My bad. You just said Biden told us he was going to do it in response to Ghost's 70% post:

Fossil fuels allow modern society to exist
True. And their time is slowly coming to an end, to be replaced by better energy sources. By the end of this century fossil fuels will largely be a thing of the past.

That's a rosy, utopian view of the situation

Space travel will be a thing. Gonna have to do better than just ejecting out a bunch of hot chemical fuel as fast as possible if we want to get anywhere.

I know you read The Expanse. Am sure you'd like to see us get there eventually.

Consider the technological changes in the last 78 years. in 1944:

- Most electricity was produced by burning coal
- Many homes still did not have electricity, or phones
- Public sewer systems were just being installed in many towns
- Cars were really primitive compared to what we have now, and not so reliable either.
- Limited access highways didn't exist
- Neither did computers, or TVs

Note how far we have come on all of these items. Now think how far we'll go in the next 78 years.

Also in 1944 most Americans had never flown on an airplane. Now 88 % of Americans have.
Airplane tickets used to cost about half the price of a car.

Technology advances exponentially, the human mind has trouble keeping up.

A fuckton will happen in 78 years.
