On my first surf trip I met a couple cats from socal that had turned this into an art form. They said they would stock up on “plaid packs”/smut mags and “bin sale” vhs pornos for bribes.
Their other strategy when being shaken down was to feign momentary poverty while stating that they had a fat bank account back in the states and happened to be in possession of their check book. They’d offer to cut whoever was hassling them a check for an ever increasing amount until the dude(s) caved to greed.
Once they were let go they’d call their bank asap and stop payment on the check.

My buddy's dad's girlfriend was a secretary at Penthouse and she always got them a free subscription.
We always took a box down to Mainland Mex.
At the checkpoints, all we had to do was open the van doors where they could see them and we were outa' there post haste.

Also, on the Long-range fishing trips I used do years ago on the Q105, the crew brought lots of mags down and traded for lobster at places like Benitos and Cedros.

The first I saw was my neighbor Freddy had a stack of Playboys under a crate in his backyard. This was around 1963 or 4. His sister found them and screeched bloody catholic murder and Freddy got his ass beat. Nobody would consider that porn today.
in second grade early 70s my friend and I found a stack of playboys in the woods, one day my sister that was in 6th grade caught us smoking some of our carton of cigarettes and looking at big Bush, she ratted me out and I wasn't allowed over to my friends house for 1 month, laissez faire parenting, same year on one saturday morning after cartoons my friend and I went out to explore around 9 AM, we were lost the entire day in the woods and started panicking and running through the bushes, got all scraped up, finally around 430 PM we came out on a road that we recognized from our school bus route but a few miles from our house, we made it home at dark just in time for dinner and nobody asked a question. I don't disagree that seeing a moving labia in 4K is much better than seeing a still shot in print. However I won't disagree with science and the apparent aftermath of this transition from print to digital.
Thats just some collateral damage...4k labia worth it imo
