I disagree with the lynching definition. The officer knew George from working at a nightclub together. Bouncer and security guards have a symbiotic relationship. Obviously, not a good one and resentment in its evilest form governed the officer's actions.
If it had anything to do with the case why did his crack defense team not bring it up during trial?
That's a pretty big deal.

There’s an Asian angle too with his band mates. The implication(s) of the rest of the crew standing around taking no action are scary. Every one of them is as guilty as George.
