Slight buckle but it’s still good. Got it for free so no biggie.

On the other hand, my single least favorite board from Daniel. Just did not like it. Bogged, wasn't drivey, felt dead. I much prefer the MPH boards (OB1, V4, Psyko, etc).

The hydroshort is one of the most back footed boards I have ever surfed. Gas pedal when pressuring the back foot. Pumping/pressuring off the front foot, bog city. I love the evo. Wish I knew which of his other models had a rocker similar to the evo. Could not get the hydroshort to work. If you love the hydroshort you are a back footed surfer.

I liked the Hydroshort a lot. It was a good compliment in the quiver. Had speed and flow, could pop a swerve or two like a short board, and also didn't need perfect conditions to go. Still worked good when the wind was up and things were wonky too. Had it out a few times at a very hollow Indo beachie and it did what it needed to do. Would have preferred to have been on my Hydronaut, but I was saving that for when I really needed it as that place was a board snapper. Actually, the DA Hydroshort's 'round tail' looks quite pinny to me - looks very similar to the Hydronaut's outline. If I had space in my quiver right now, I'd love to double YOLO a 5'8 Vader and a 5'10 or 5'11 Hydroshort...

Let’s say hypothetically if I were to pick up a DA Evo what size should I get. I’ve read here and elsewhere that they work best “ridiculously short” but how short are we talking? The closest thing I have resembling a “normal“ shortboard is a stock 6’3 Ghost a bit over 34L.

I’m 6’1 and weighed 200 this morning.

Looking at the DA website…5’8 - 5’7 - 5’6?

On a forum search I found that @oeste858 had a 5’5 and that dude just bought an AO from me that I replaced with an AO of the same dims.

I’m 6’1 190 mediocre surfing ability. Had a 5’6 Evo and 5’7.. I liked the 5’7 better. The lift due to the channels reminded me of the Plasmic a little however plasmic is better imo.
