They were all there, Gorgeous George, Andre the Giant, Freddie Blassie, etc.
The kids I was with were totally into it, thought it was the real deal.
I had none of it.
It was, to my recollection, even at 6 or 7 the biggest fake sideshow.
I remember going out to the back door with all the kids to get autographs and seeing the tape hanging off their face where the fake blood capsules popped.
I think wrestling back then might have been bigger than it is today.
I loved pro wrasslin as a kid bc bitd it was filled with legit badasses. I bet the farm Blassie could’ve beat the sh!t out of anyone in the crowd.
