I didn't know this was a thing until recently reading an IG comment where they joked about someone getting their rims repo'd. I understand making payments on a tire if it's the only way you can keep it rolling, but financing shiny rims has to be one of the absolute dumbest decision a human can make. I'm sure it's a bad credit, no credit, no problem type of deal.
For a year or so I sold furniture on the "lease" gotta job no credit racket. It was great for responsible people who needed some furniture quick, and it was great for the "my man/women gotta good job I dgaf" set.
They would be like kids in the Walmart candy isle the day after Christmas with the gift cards. Buying brooms, vacuums, curtains,sheets,decorative whales, diy gazebos and fire pits... Instant crib and they'd be in looking about the time they got a new man, new job, bank account or the real players would be ready to pay it off two months ahead of time so they could get in on the next season. All in all it seemed like a good thing for some good people, many of whom didn't speak English so I didn't need to off myself for being a part of it, but whoever is leasing rims, I hope they're at least moving some quality drugs because otherwise they're just keeping the people down.
