I don't know. American Football is basically a slight variation of rugby, except the downfield pass makes it more exciting IMO. It probably should've never been called football, but it is what it is.Do you think most foreigners are even aware of this? (if the bastardization is even true...)
I agree. You and the guy in the article are not wrong in that respect. Which the networks take full advantage of in order to drag the game out and milk advertising revenue to the fullest. Although I've also tried watching football games on youtube where they condense an entire game into 20-30 minutes. It's almost too much to absorb. It would be like trying to learn Chemistry by reading the Clif Notes. The context and build up are part of the game, whether you like it or not. But yeah, I agree that it could be tightened up a bit. MLB is light years worse in that regard. The stop and go "plays" aspect is perhaps the most unappealing part of the game.
Like sitting in traffic.
"We're finally moving!" ...and stop again. Repeat. For four hours.
I know you are, and I agree with you.I’m mocking the inevitable right wing outrage. Christian moms will be outraged at the sexuality. And it def wasn’t Vanilla enough for the fox and friends crowd. And that Puerto Rican flag will inflame potus like a bad hemorrhoid. Which makes it the best halftime show since Prince.
Yeah, how dare they mock a sport which has 'foot' and 'ball' in its name but has nothing to do with feet or balls.Any foreigners opinion on Football, let alone a Brits, is BS. "Not a real sport" LOL. If you don't get it, you never will.
Which I pointed out in the first paragraph of my next post: "Most of that stems from them being butthurt that we bastardized the 2 sports, turned them into 1, and stole the name."Yeah, how dare they mock a sport which has 'foot' and 'ball' in its name but has nothing to do with feet or balls.
You've mistaken me for someone else.Which I pointed out in the first paragraph of my next post: "Most of that stems from them being butthurt that we bastardized the 2 sports, turned them into 1, and stole the name."
Reading comprehension. Learn it.
Also, probably some lingering butthurt over the revolutionary war. #murka
No, I haven't. You suck at reading comprehension. I addressed the fact that the name "football" was probably not appropriate in 2 posts before you chimed in.You've mistaken me for someone else.
Then why are you here?I don't care for sports or nationalism.
So friggin what? Of course the Brits are going to look down their nose at everything one of their former colonies does. They didn't bastardize anything, they just named it after two things that have nothing to do with the game.
And then they played slow down offense just because they had the lead....Can someone tell me why the 49ers decided to NOT call time out with the Chiefs getting ready to punt with 1:30ish left in the half? I'm not a fan of either team but I just kinda figure if you are in the Super Bowl it might be a good idea to try and score points given the time and opportunity. Given the "no time out" decision... why didn't they just kneel out the half? I'm stumped.
Because Garoppolo looked like he was about to stroke out and they have the best defense in the league and were getting the ball back after the half? Other than the running plays on that one drive in the 2nd quarter SF offense looked like dogshit in the first half. Can someone tell me why the 49ers decided to NOT call time out with the Chiefs getting ready to punt with 1:30ish left in the half? It was a good game. I enjoyed it.
It was at the beginning . I thought I heard some boos.I thought there was supposed to be a Kobe tribute somewhere in the 1/2 time show. I watched via Fire TV so maybe I missed it.
Those were from people who saw him driving in the carpool lane.I thought I heard some boos.
