Sinus Infection

Today is the first day in forever I can breath about 50% out of one nostril. The other nostril is still 100% blocked. Progress!

Yesterday, tried putting one finger on my nose to close one nostril, then tried to blow out my other just get some air to open up. Suddenly my ear blew out and instant dizzy room spinning. Then followed by immediate severe pain in my ear which lasted maybe 10 secons and I was waiting for blood to come out but nothing. Most pain I ever feel in my ear! Will not be doing that again.

Yeah thought I blew an ear yesterday. Been using afrin but my nose started bleeding yesterday. Have anxiety this shits not going away. Last time I started feeling better I paddled out and it started ALL OVER AGAIN

I did go. Have not had fever or any other signs doctors look for so he said probably viral. He gave me a z pack said to take it if I don’t get better. I took it. I’m feeling slightly better but not gonna rush anything after the hell ive been through.

I'm on day 10.

Started the day before I left for Montana. Grinded it out the entire trip. Snowboarded 5 days, drank the entire trip and didn't get much in the way of rest and now I'm paying the price. Headed to the doctor in an hour.

Going on a week now. Feel pretty good during the day, not too much congestion or pressure. Lay down to sleep and my head is pounding and I wake up with a whole lot of green gunk. Been flushing and what not. Slept well for the first time in a few days last night so see if we're on the upswing before resorting to antibiotics.

Anyone else's sinus problems seem directly related to weather? Not surfing in dirty poo water, but big weather shifts, primarily warm soggy fronts in winter here in the NE usually do me in.

I'm going on Day 9 of sinus bullshit. Been doing Neti pot the last 3 days, that helped a bit. Going to the doctor today. No other symptoms, just clogged sinuses all around my nose/eyes/temples.

Going to the doctor this afternoon. I hate going to the dr office in winter with all the other sickies.

What was your choice of fermented beverage(s) for your get together?

Had a margarita (punch bowl filled, so it was serve yourself) and a beer (Sol) to go with the chicken mole and chile verde. There were about 25 of us in the hills above El Cerrito in the East Bay.

So my doctor told me to keep doing Neti pot and gave me antibiotics but said only take 'em if things get worse. Overall they've slowly gotten better. Still not symptom-free, but no more yellow crud coming out of my nostrils. Been doing Neti pot 4-5x per day.

My daughter (just turned 5) thought it was really fun to watch me doing the Neti pot and seeing the boogers fall into the sink. I started laughing and blew bubbles in the Neti pot, which made both of us laugh more. That helped more than anything.

I’m doing a bit better. First morning totally clear (so far). If I wasn’t terrified of getting sick again I’d surf today. Gonna wait a couple more days.

both my kids have persistent coughs for over a month. My youngest has constant green mucus coming out of everywhere.Multiple doctor visits. They say it’s viral and come back if fever or wheezing.

wife sick. Has same symptoms and ear infection. She got amoxicillin yesterday.

this seems wide spread. Worst winter ever for me.

Ok, so I'm on the mend, but still have gunk coming out the nose every once in a while, and sinuses are still inflamed. To get some more gunk out, I went belly down on a yoga ball, elbows on the ground, and held for 20-30 seconds. The pressure from all the blood rushing to my head seemed to squeeze the sinuses and shove more gunk out. I was blowing orange/yellow sh!t for the next 10 minutes. Did 3 cycles of that, felt a lot less pressure in the sinuses afterwards.

Take the last pill tonight. Now only coughing up tiny baby yodas. A bit more energy. I’m not sure the z pack was needed. fook this sucks. Been in the water 4 times since December. I’m gonna stay out until this is completely cleared up. Can’t go through this sh!t again. Just picked up a new board too.

I found a great thing today. Alkalol. It’s a nasal rinse med. I put about 6 teaspoons in the Neti pot mix. I think I’m on the tail end of this but still have stuff coming out but clear now.

After breathing sessions, cold exposure, more sleep, eating healthier= don't get sick anymore. I teach first grade surrounded by 6 year old petri dishes and not sick once. Man up and take control boys!

I've surfed once since Thanksgiving. Never recovered in most of SD and then the Christmas deluge. Foul again.
