The Democratic Party and the Left have been co-opted.

They used to be the party that stood up for the working class and the rust belt. Now they ignore them and call them racist and to STFU about their problems because White Privilege.

They used to be the anti-war party. Now they are pro-war when a republican refuses to send troops (Turkey & Kurds with Trump) and when it's their team sending the troops (Yemen, Ukraine).

They are the Party of Science® when it's their science. Such as global warming. But when there's science showing biological differences between biological males and females, no no no likey that transphobic science!

They are the My Body My Choice® when it's for abortion but not for vaccines.

They used to be the party that stood against corporate entanglement and collusion with government. Now they are all for as long as it pushes their narratives, such as Twitter pre-Elon. Then they changed their tune when they lost control :roflmao: Same goes for big pharma, which is only eclipsed by the defense industry when it comes to human rights abuses and arguably worse in some regards. Big Pharma successfully turned the left into their biggest advocate :crazy2:

It boggles my mind how this happened. I have a few theories that are tinfoil hat'ish and impossible to prove. These things were in motion before Trump, but once Trump was elected the line in the sand became that much more clear. With that, all that Big Pharma, Legacy Media and the Democrat Party had to do was ilk something as Trump or White Supremacist and they knew they would have a legion of millions of psychopaths pushing their agenda.

At this point I'm not sure what interests I am voting for if I vote Democrat? Pro-Choice? Anything else?

Disclaimer: Nowhere am I saying that Trump or the The Right is any better. I am only speaking of the decline and cop-opting of the left. The Right has also declined since the Reagan/Bush era.

Ideological Cleansing and using coercion to control narratives.
Pretty much the definition of McCarthyism, fuckwit:

a vociferous campaign against alleged communists in the US government and other institutions carried out under Senator Joseph McCarthy in the period 1950–54. Many of the accused were blacklisted or lost their jobs, although most did not in fact belong to the Communist Party.

It wasn't developed by them [Russian spy’s] but they very well could've encouraged it, and likely did, given how much the far left is represented in humanities departments. That is the field where you are most likely to find people who actually think communism would work, it just has to be done correctly! :roflmao:

The *red scare* is so embedded in your psychology that I don’t think you’ll ever be able to root it out, I’m afraid.
No . . .. it's not. LOLZ. Yuri Bezmenov lays out exactly what the Russians did in the early 80s. How successful were they? I don't know, but we have seen what he described play out. Question is whether that was because of Russia or not, and I can't prove that one way or other, like I disclaimed from the start.

You can't even formulate a coherent argument based on what I am actually saying, so you've taken to making up arguments to give you something to reply to. Which is the textbook definition of a Strawman argument. Sad!

Like I said- I have no desire to get people fired or silenced for their beliefs, as dumb as they may be. That's what people like you support. I believe in letting the marketplace of ideas play itself out, because over time the best ideas prove themselves and stand the test of time while the dumb ones fail.

Plus, do you have an actual number of professors who were fired in the 50s? Would love to compare that to the number who lost their jobs in the 2020/Post Floyd Summer of Love Era when professors firings went up dramatically. Wouldn't be surprised if the numbers were in the same ballpark. The guillotine swings both ways.

Despite living out of country for several years now, i still vote regularly and enjoy the fun of switching parties to serve my own self-interests. That said, I suspect this next election is gonna be era-defining because the reality is the majority (not the richest) of Americans are frustrated, its evidenced by examples like when @Autoprax goes on campus rampage tearing down pro-Palestinian posters and putting choke-holds on students unhappy with his comments on their submitted work (are you saying i don't know what i'm doing, huh?). Anyhoo, despite my protective nature of personal freedoms (which don't include wearing assless chaps while reading stories to 7 year olds in public libraries) I may be willing to compromise if Trump will show the world who is boss (that includes Israel) and let everyone just live an American peace. Unfortunately, it may be to late for that and we may have a real war on our hands soon...i think the only thing protecting us right now from Russia & China allying and attacking us is the racist nature of the Russians and the general dishonesty of the Chinese. My only concerns about voting for Trump are negligible basically limited to crazy relatives in the OC & Texas chest-beating at holiday parties about "they knew it was gonna happen", oh and the vaporizing of the Palestinians by those nuts in Israel, but hey? Liberalism is fun, but they went to far during the "woke" years...Peace is important and Americans are a forgiving bunch as evidenced by former enemies like Japan that have prospered after effectively being minimized, the same would go for the Tendergroiners I believe...one day we will have a gay male president who will throw all night short short parties in the White House, but not yet...its time to show the world who is boss.

"Honey, get those MAGA hats back out and put USA First stickers on all the vehicles we're Republicans again!"
Please don’t vote.

I think the problem is that the idea of reading books is so foreign to you that it doesn’t even cross your mind that academics may read books on economics, philosophy, history, etc., and that’s where they may get *evil* socialist ideas. No sneaky Russian agents required. :ROFLMAO:

If you can't answer with an argument of your own, why not just keep your mouth shut......or read a book!
