All they had to do was produce a legit birth certificate that hadn't been altered. Because of that the issue lives on. As for his presidency, I did not support moves to attempt to remove him from office based on that. He won the election and it was not worth the damage to the country to attempt to unseat him based on that. There were plenty of other things to worry about. His birth certificate was no more than the source of fun banter.
