Two people in my family circle were disappeared by the cartel.

Only two? Granted, be good and you’re good isn’t a 100% guarantee but the odds are in your favor if you don’t run around showing your ass. grg has traveled kthe area for a long time and knows how to act.

That's wasn't what I was referencing.

I was saying if I'm not mistaken some of the camp owners in the area are gringos. (No idea if this is the case of the camp in question).

While I know there are "costs of doing business" in many places around the world I often wonder what the additional cost of doing business is for gringos in the Mexican narco state and would speculate it likely involves direct payment.

It's a rather unethical path for a gringo to take if so.

Just my two cents.

As far as be good and you're good, yes that's the case, and unfortunately the two familials who I mentioned made their choice to participate in cartel operations in their home country and have not been seen for many years.
