He's battling cancer still, may be on Chemo forever .. still living in El Segundo. Homebound, spooked on COVID just because of his health. Spirit seems to be high. Just wants to "get out and fly" for a bit in the outside world.

Best Pizza in the South Bay? Compared to la vera pizza di Napoli, Italiana DOC. My wife is from Italy and has only found good pizza once, in Marina Del Rey. The owner was Napolitano. We went a couoke of times and then the owenr moved back to Italy.
Best Mexican? I'm not really picky. I even like Jack in the Box tacos, so economical price is a big plus.

In the early 80's I worked at Pizza Man in Hermosa beach on PCH. It was the bomb. I made and delivered pizzas, fried chicken, ribs and fried mushrooms. They had this special recipe for the batter that was like crack and people would order it all the way from Torrance because it was so good. The pizza was thin crust and New York style with just the right mix of herbs and spices. Yum!
Local legend. See him all the time. He'll talk story for a half hour everytime I say "hi." Classic stories.

Been a good run of surf the past few days.
This AM I got my best tube of the year. Snagged an outsider with a corner. Going full speed into the inside it started to suck hard and by the time I thought to pull out it was too late. Straightening out was no longer an option either, so, against my better judgement, I went racing through a big, wide, dry, sand colored hole. 3 count and then it pinched.
When I came up I looked to the beach and the lifeguard standing next to his truck raised both fists in the air, although... he could have been yawning.

He's somewhat healthy, still battling the Cancer poop, good ona good day, crap on his down days.
He bought an EV Bike so he gets around on his good days, dropping in on the Strand from El Segundo to ride around and get in the sun. Cruises the lower parking lots and catching up with folks. Tough SOB for the last 4 years battling the Big C. Not sure how he does it. I just can't imagine.
One day at a time is all we get anyway ...

Just got off the phone with MC / Brian. It's his Birthday AND his 40th Anniversary today, but alas, he was at Chemo therapy, doing his thing. We had a few moments to chat and catch up.Spirits are up. Just doing what he has to do.
I guess there is some sort of "variant" going around so he and Robyn have been staying home but I told him to get his azz out and enjoy the day. Get on their eBikes and go for a ride but ... he said good idea, but he may go down to the Redondo Pier and cruise around, get some lunch and enjoy just being outside for a bit. Sitting around watching TV & cooped up in the house is wearing on them both.
