My wife and I love going to the National and State Parks. Here’s a few photos from a trip we took the Badlands NP in South Dakota. It may be one of the most underrated parks in the whole system. It’s so beautiful and not too crowded. The Buffalo are from Custer State Park which was around a half an hour from the Badlands.

Where is Black Canyon loop you speak of? Googled and I see several.

That would be a great trip! When we went we stayed on a northern route. Yellowstone, Jackson Wyoming , Rafting on the Snake River, Grand Tetons, Badlands, Mt Rushmore, Deadwood, Medora…… way too much to list.

Black Canyon of the Gunnison brah
Yep.

I went to the Rocky Mountains and Black Canyon when I was little. I remember the Rocky Mountains because we did a 12 mile hike (6 out and back) which was the longest we ever completed with my mom along. I remember my little sister, who was probably 4 years old at the time, being piggy backed by my dad and she kept saying, "I don't like you anymore," over and over.....good times.

We did all of these w the kids. If you haven't already, add Moab and arches to that list bc it's pretty close to black canyon. And capital reef.

And if you're at badlands, you might as well hit mt Rushmore.

Since our spring Yosemite Valley reservations were cancelled due to snow (they opened about one week after our reservation :cursing: ), we made reservations at Sequoia (week after this coming week). I was looking at the map of the KNP fire. It basically burned the whole western flank of the national park. Got up into Muir Grove. The Giant Forest group was spared, my guess due to aggressive efforts on the part of fire fighters.

I'm thinking this trip will be one of mixed emotions...
