Badlands is on my bucket list. I want to do a Teton, Yellowstone, Badlands, Rocky Mountains, Black Canyon loop trip, the sooner the better....
That would be a great trip! When we went we stayed on a northern route. Yellowstone, Jackson Wyoming , Rafting on the Snake River, Grand Tetons, Badlands, Mt Rushmore, Deadwood, Medora…… way too much to list.

We did all of these w the kids. If you haven't already, add Moab and arches to that list bc it's pretty close to black canyon. And capital reef.
Love Black Canyon of the Gunnison, unique and not crazy crowded. Canyon of the Ancients and nearby Mesa Verde are pretty special, too
), we made reservations at Sequoia (week after this coming week). I was looking at the map of the KNP fire. It basically burned the whole western flank of the national park. Got up into Muir Grove. The Giant Forest group was spared, my guess due to aggressive efforts on the part of fire fighters.
