$250B for PG&E to bury its lines, probably the same for SCE. Add permits, environmental mitigation, the usual delays, etc., and we are probably looking at a trillion dollars to bury them all.

How much is each fire costing in damages?

I know the power lines are not the sole cause but they seem significant.

Especially in California. The Church of St. Greta will only be happy if humans left the state or returned to Pomo levels of progress

doubt it's the best option.
Micro grids + more weather stations around power lines to build up to data on figuring precise power shut downs in targeted areas. San Diego is the model. took them almost 10 years to get to that point after the '09 fires. would probably cost less than barring lines too and then the cost of maintaining underground lines. still micro grids will cost $'s and there's not enough skilled labor to do it quickly.

Sounded more like a desperate attempt to get in your talking points for the day to be honest.
Looks more like a desperate attempt from you to spin a post that was simply concurring with how high the price to make an infrastructure change in California would be

Please elaborate what you think I meant or what the "talking points" would be

PG&E is bankrupt. They’d be lucky to break ground in the next ten years due to the same reasons you gave. And then there’s the funding. How’s the proposition for the gas tax working?

Yep, I have fam in Santa Rosa that's been in mandatory evacuation for a few days now, but the're still at their houses. Kincade fire slowly creeping south. Too bad, there's so much beautiful hillsides going up in flames around there. I might get some company this week for those that need to escape the smoke.

That's one option.
There could be others when/if it is prioritized.
Currently the model of building cheap and maximizing profits, then paying settlements later, doesn't seem to be working well (ie filing for bankruptcy in advance).
