Poked around some bassy looking ponds I scoped on google maps the other day. Looks like I need to come back with some frog top lures.

Stopped by a local river before heading home and noticed this eagle snacking on something. Got me excited for chinook season.

This guy moved into the Tyee Pool three days ago and now spends much of the day hanging out on the mooring buoy across from where I live.

He alternates between sitting up and barking now and then and then stretching out for a snooze.
Started up barking first thing in the morning so I'm naming him Alarm Clock.

Hoping he buggers off before the Chinook start showing up at the end of July, otherwise we could have a problem.

Where's a Transient Orca when you need one? LOL

Take care.

As this thread has proven time and time again, Nature is capable of providing some dank spectacles if you keep your eyes open.

This happened a week ago. Out back cleaning the garbage or as I like to call it ballast out of my ride. Crow flies overhead being chased by a 12? small birds of the same species as far as I could tell. I think to myself, radical way to go little birds for taking care of business and escorting that crow out of your hood. Not one minute later they fly back over my head in the opposite direction only this time the crow had one of the birds in its beak.
Moral of the story is don’t fuck with crows I guess.

Tuesday evening, my neighbor up the slope behind my house told me that he and his daughter saw a mama bobcat with 2 kittens several times over Memorial Day weekend and that they were living in the bushes on the slope between our houses. So I've been on the lookout to try and see them. Found this under one of my orange trees...

:poop:

Hoping to have some bobcat photos to share!

Moments ago, was looking out the rear window, suddenly movement from the sky to the pear tree, nearly at same time, finches/sparrows bolt from the pear tree.

Split second later, this Sharp-shinned hawk breaks out of pear tree, moving sort of like a bizarre lizard using it wings to pull its way through the branches/leaves, then leaps/flaps to the fence.

Grab the pocket camera nearby (set there for just such things), and get two quick snaps before it takes off:

Auto setting through dusty windows and then further reduced quality by cut and paste snips...sorry about that.
